Our recommendations are based on many years of experience in the
field of electrical heating.
There are several questions to ask yourself:
-
What type of installation - bathroom, kitchen, conservatory
etc ?
-
What is the sub-floor made from - concrete, wood etc ?
-
Is the sub-floor insulated ?
-
What type of overfloor - tiles, stone, slate, marble,
laminate, engineered wood, solid wood, plastic (vinyl, linoleum) etc.
Every installation requires individual consideration.
All ThermMAT and ThermCABLE systems will provide you with a warm
floor to meet your requirements but the heat up time and system efficiency will
be dependent on the insulating properties of the installation.
Depending on the sub-floor construction, note the floor
preparation recommended in the installation instructions.
The following floor layer illustrations have been prepared as a
guide.
ThermMAT or ThermCABLE on a timber sub-floor

ThermMAT or ThermCABLE on a concrete sub-floor
(WITH insulating tile backer board)

ThermMAT or ThermCABLE on a concrete sub-floor
(WITHOUT insulating tile backer board)

When there is no floor height restriction we recommend the use of Marmox 10mm
thick insulating tile backer board to reduce heat up time and energy
consumption, particularly on concrete sub-floors.
